Is Ecuador safe?

Like in any tourist destination in the world, caution and common sense will help you stay away from pickpockets in high pedestrian traffic areas. Minimum jewelery, secured cameras/phones and just enough cash for the day in your wallet will help you be less of a target.

Carry a copy of your passport at all times, you can leave the original at the Airbnb.

As far as civil unrest, Ecuador is experiencing an era of calm and optimism so nothing out of the ordinary is expected.

Even though Ecuador has taken huge strides regarding LGBT issues, same-sex PDA (public displays of affection) is not a common thing and might get you a few uncomfortable stares.

Are there gay places in Quito and our other overnight destinations?

At your arrival to Quito, you will receive a Guest Manual, which will include a list of gay and gay-friendly establishments in the city that you can visit during your free time. However, we recommend you stick to our itinerary choices for your safety and convenience. Gay venues are concentrated mostly in the larger cities like Quito, Guayaquil and Cuenca.

I found other gay travel agencies in Ecuador, why choose you and not them?

For one, we’re the ONLY one with offices and permanent staff in both cities: Quito and Fort Lauderdale. Our bi-national team will make sure you’re always accompanied and safe during your travels in Ecuador.

Do I have to make my own arrangements to get from home to Fort Lauderdale and back?

You can, but we’ll be happy to help you with your connecting flights as well.
